12) Does my child get a T-shirt?
Yes. All campers receive a T-shirt on Fridays for bowling. In order to keep camp costs down, we do not give out a new T-shirt each week for campers who attend more than 1 week. If you attend more than 1 week of Sports Camp please have your child wear their T-shirt on Fridays. Additional T-shirts can be purchased for $5 per shirt.
13) The staff?
A huge part of our camp’s success can be attributed to our Staff. All of our Coaches have been finger-printed and have taken the “Protecting God’s Children” course. This course is required of all diocesan staff. We have 5 full time coaches who are CPR/First Aid certified. We have been running the summer sports camp for 11 years. Many of our coaches came to the camp as youngsters. In addition to our Coaches, we also have Coaches in Training. These teenagers attend local high schools. They provide help to all the coaches during day to day activities. When we go to Beach Bowl on Fridays, they have their own bowling groups.
14) I have a rising 7th or 8th grader. Is there anything for them?
Yes, we have started a special program for 7th and 8th graders. They can attend camp at half price and are given some coaching responsibilities, as well as playing opportunities at camp. Please contact Tommy Hulihan (904) 349-2611 if you have additional questions.
